Who says romance is dead?

Not my parents that's for sure.

Actually they would probably be the first to declare that they weren't as 'smushy' as I make out, but I am here to tell you that they most certainly are.

This week they will be celebrating 34yrs of wedded bliss.

34 YEARS!!!

Wow!!! *Round of applause please*

Back in 1977 was where their love story began...

Back when flares and mini skirts where all the rage and my Dad rocked a rather impressive afro!

Fast forward 34yrs to 2011 and they're still going strong...

Thankfully they've ditched the flares and mini skirts but the afro seems to have stayed put, although it's a slightly different colour.

How to they keep their relationship fresh after all those years?

Well it seems they are looking to their past for ideas...

When my parents were younger they owned a little sailing boat, and would spend many a romantic weekend on board. Now 30 odd years later they've donned their sea legs and are ready to do it all over again.

My Dad has just purchased a canoe and will be picking it up on Friday 16th of September, the exact date of their 34th wedding anniversary.

Oh and did I mention that just last weekend, almost 34yrs after the event, they visited the church where they were married?

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MUM AND DAD!!!

Here's to good old fashioned romance!!!

xxx

P.S I hope the canoe comes with life jackets!!!
